Have a great day

I took inspiration from this card when I wanted to create something using Clearly Besotted Good times stamp set. But I did make some changes because I felt it suited my style / my card better: I moved the sentiment and kept it very subtle, I stamped the bike in a charcoal grey and I used a soft pink patterned paper – all in all the changes made my card even more feminin and softer than the original.

I really liked the idea of adding a shadow beneath the bike so I did that too – I simply sketched lightly with a grey coloured pencil.

Trio of whales

hval1

I’ve made this trio of cards for a friend who’ll be using them at an auction benefitting Wylder Nation. The whale is a significant animal for the family behind Wylder Nation and that is why the cards sport this cool dude with a red balloon tied to his tail.

hval2The background dots were stamped using a Papertrey Ink background stamp and both the whale as well as the sentiment are from Papertrey Ink too. The little red balloon is from Mama Elephant and sadly it doesn’t have a matching die which would have been great when doing multiple little balloons. But it all worked out in the end, thankfully.

I’ve added this trio of cards to Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge: We’re going dotty.

OCC Clean and Simple 4: Die cut background

For Clean & Simple 4 Yana Smakula inspired us to use diecuts to build backgrounds. Layering diecuts tone on tone on a background is actually something I do often but it is always lovely to have a reason to revisit a technique.

For the design of the card I was inspired by this card but I chose a different colour scheme and a different word die for my background. I stamped the sentiment on a banner and embellished the banner with a heart and a single sequin.

I when I was at it I made sure to make two cards 🙂 It is something I don’t do often enough. It is so much easier to just do multiple cards when and if you have the materials out anyway.

Tillykke Jacob!
