Tillykke Moster

Jingle all the way – penguin style

When I saw the first card in this post, I knew I had to lift it and when I did, I stayed fairly loyal to the original card changing only minor details: I used different papers, stamped the penguin directly onto the white paper and used a different sentiment stamp.

While I do like the Arctic Penguins I prefer for them to be entirely black so I ran over my stamped penguin with a black pen. And then I used PrismaColor pencils to colour in his beak, skates and cup. As a final detail I added Glossy Accent over his beak to give it some shine.

I recreated the look of the bow in the corner of the card using Lawn Fawn twine which is a fairly heavy twine. This means it benefits from a little bit of adhesive to stay exactly in place and so that is what it got 😉

Fenja 3 years

Well, it has actually been a few months since Fenja turned three but I haven’t gotten around to editing the pictures of the card before now… Good thing I got the card sent in time for her birthday, right? Shaker cards remain a stable when sending cards to the little ones and so I went with yet another one for Fenja. I created the shaker-element separate from the card base so that I could stamp and heat emboss a night sky complete with a half moon for the background of the shaker. I filled the shaker with tiny coloured star confetti (and I wish I had added even more).

To give the card base a little detail, I stamped diagonal stripes using a dark grey. This adds a little something without taking away from the main focus of the card.

I coloured the cute Lawn Fawn dragon using my PrismaColor pencils and blended the colours for a smooth look. It isn’t visible in the picture but I added some Wink of Stella to details on the dragon as well as to the fire it breathes.

Thankfully, the card found a happy recipient who laughed at the card – that means my job was done.

Ett Trykk: Get well card

0415_sesong_ceciliemalling_01

In the August edition of Ett Trykk we had a get well theme and I created this card for that theme. In Danish the word “monster” can be used to denominate something huge but also something that is really really good. And I used it in that sense here to wish for the reciepient of the card that he would feel much much better.

I stamped the sentiment using Lawn Fawn’s Milo alphabet which has become one of my stable go-to sets when I want to create unique sentiments. I alligned the sentiment towards the top of the white cardstock so that I could make room for two rows of grass beneath the sentiment.

My monsters need to have googly eyes! It is as simple as that. They are cute to begin with but once you add googly eyes they are simply perfect. This time around I even managed to use one of my googly eyes with eyebrows because the yellow matched my monster perfectly. How lucky was that?!
