Agnes 3 years

Yesterday our very favourite Agnes turned three years old and this of course means we sent her a card. I decided to use Wplus9’s adorable elephant from Unforgettable in combination with Sunshine Layers and a balloon.

I used my PrismaColor pencils to colour in the elephant and her little party hat. For some reason I struggled using these elephants to begin with but now it seems I’ve found a way to colour them and that means I want to use them too.

Shaker elements are just plain fun and so perfect for smaller children. So for Agnes’ card it seemed very appropriate to have the balloon be a shaker. I die cut it directly into my background before I used distress inks to add some blue to the sky. To complete the sense of the balloon (and the elephant) flying through the sky, I added a sun, some clouds and well yes some stars… Guess, the stars should be seen mostly as reflections in the sky – at least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I filled the shaker with brightly coloured little thingies that I got in Papertrey Ink’s shaker set from last year. I don’t know what these things are but they are absolutely perfect for shakers. I’ve tried finding some online and it seems you can buy some that look very similar on Etsy, which I just might do!
