Keeping with traditions, I’ve made a shaped card for Line’s friend Helle’s daughter who turns four today. This year I went with a balloon because balloons are good plain fun!
Of course I had to add Caroline’s name and age to the card so I decided to do a strip across the bottom of the balloon. In this strip I die cut her name and age using Sizzix’ Alphanumeric die set which is brilliant because you can die cut the entire name in one go. Love this alphabet set. In order to make sure that the letters could be seen against the bigger balloons pattern, I mounted some vellum behind the strip with the letters.
When I’d mounted balloons and clouds on the card I still felt it needed something. This led me to add two small birds that I quickly coloured in using PrismaColor pencils.
I added some string to the bottom of the smaller balloons and glued down the loops so they would stay in place over time. And obviously, I had to add some bling to this rather girly card. Now all that is left is to ponder which shape I might chose next year…
