It is no surprise, I guess, that I joined Online Card Classes’ latest class: Stretch Your Dies. The class started yesterday and it is already proving to be well worth the money. My first card tackles a fun way to using fun foam, word dies and a heat gun that was introduced by Jennifer McGuire on day 1. I have to a large degree used Jennifer’s card as a template for my own card but I’ve gone with stars rather than flowers and I only used fun foam for the sentiment.
Instead of having to colour in white fun foam, I diecut my sentiment in black fun foam before I shrank it with the heat from my heat gun. I didn’t like the look of the coloured fun foam (at least not for this card) so I used shapes diecut from the same gold foil as I used for the strip along the left edge.
As Jennifer did, I too stamped and heat embossed a pattern on the left edge of the card base. It adds a lot to the card as well as setting a tone for the entire card.
